Why You Should Consider Booklets

Booklets are versatile print products that are excellent for multi-page materials - such as catalogues, magazines, menus and manuals. Read on to learn more about booklet printing and for tips on how to print a booklet.
As mentioned above, booklets can be printed to fit a variety of needs for several different businesses, whether its to provide information about a company or simply a fun means of promotion. Our booklets range from 8 to 64 pages, which is perfect if you have a lot of content to feature. Here are some of our tips on how to print a booklet effectively:

Formatting Your Booklet

The first thing you must do is analyze how much content you have and how much can be placed into the booklet itself. This will determine how many pages your booklet will need to be. Before making plans, you should know that booklets only print pages in even numbers and in multiples of 4, printed on the front and back sides. As a result, when beginning your cover page will count as page number 1 and the inside cover as page number 2.
Whether you print 8.5” x 11” or 5.5” x 8.5” booklets, you will need to decide on the orientation of your booklet - either portrait or landscape. You can follow our setup guide to make your design process a lot easier. Once your design is complete, double-check the orientation of every page and overall page order before sending it to be printed.

Booklet Images

A fantastic way to break up a content-heavy booklet design is to include photos and images. Take advantage of text-wrapping and format your images into the text for a dynamic design. Be creative with how you place images! These images will make your booklet more enjoyable to read.
eprintfast offers full-color booklet printing so you have the ability to incorporate eye-catching images in your booklet. Make sure that you choose high-resolution photos for the best print. If your booklet is a photo book or activity book, you'll have to ensure that the images fit the size of your booklet page.
(To ensure the highest print quality, images should be 300 dpi. Check out our Artwork Requirements for more information.)

Booklet Fonts

If you are printing an informational handout (like a magazine, catalogue or menu), your booklet will most likely be very text-heavy. Make sure your booklet is readable by sticking to easy-to-read fonts for your headings, subheadings and body text. We recommend only using about three typefaces for a consistent design. Uniform text alignment and spacing will also improve readability.

Don't forget that your text needs to be a legible size. The recommended font sizes for print are 10 - 12pt, but of course, it all depends on the typeface being used. Consider using a larger font if your audience is of a younger or older generation, due to developmental or visual concerns. When in doubt, play it safe and go bigger than you think you'll need. Lastly, be sure that your font color contrasts with the background color for easy reading.
